GK Forums

The recently held Gawad Kalinga Forum in Trace College, Los Baños last August 31, 2007 headed by the UP Gawad Kalinga Los Baños and Trace College, was a success.

About four hundred students and teachers from different schools in Los Baños attended the said event. Those who attended include Tito Rey dela Cruz of GK Los Baños Ville, Tito Len Peñaranda of GK Youth Laguna, Francelle Sanico, Vice President for Partner Management of UPGK in Diliman, Noelle Arcinue, the student council president of De La Salle University Manila, Greg Mercado Jr., the GK 1MB Coordinator for Nothern Metro Manila and South Luzon and from the members of CFC, UPGK-LB at YFC-UPLB.

The GK Forum is carried out to present the projects and programs of Gawad Kalinga to the future bayani especially the youth. The interest of the attendees and the number of volunteers for the GKLBV Bayani Challenge proves the success of the said forum. The program was held at three in the afternoon. The first part of the forum was composed of video presentations, sharing, performance of Greg Mercado (left photo) of GK 1MB and discussion of GK LBV Bayani Challenge 07 headed by GK LBV Bayani Challenge Event Head Hannah Brizuela and Project Director Rey dela Cruz.

The second part was composed of an open forum about the Bayani Challenge 07.
